Collection: Guayusa Tea Bags

Our guayusa tea bags are the easiest way to brew Amazonian guayusa at home, at work or on the road. Each bag is 100% guayusa leaf from small-scale farmers in Napo, Ecuador, picked by hand, air-dried and never smoked. The bags come without tags, strings or individual wrappers, so there's less to throw away.

Choose your strength (approximate caffeine per bag):

To brew, pour 8 oz of hot water over a bag and steep for 5 minutes, or longer for a stronger cup. For iced guayusa, let a bag steep in cold water in the fridge. Caffeine varies a little from harvest to harvest, so treat these figures as approximate.

Frequently asked questions

How much caffeine is in a guayusa tea bag?

It depends on the bag: about 22 mg in a 1.5 g Green bag, about 41 mg in a 2.5 g Traditional bag, about 66 mg in a 5 g Golden bag and about 82 mg in our 5 g Strong bag. Caffeine varies a little from harvest to harvest, so these figures are approximate.

Which guayusa tea bags should I choose?

For an everyday cup, try the 100-count Traditional bags. If you're replacing coffee, the 50-count Strong bags are closest. Golden is the smoothest and mellowest, and Green is the lightest choice for afternoons.

How do I brew guayusa tea bags?

Pour 8 oz of hot water over one bag and steep for 5 minutes, or longer for a stronger cup. For iced guayusa, steep 8–10 minutes, let it cool and pour over ice, or let a bag steep in cold water in the fridge.

Can I steep a guayusa tea bag twice?

Yes. Our 5 g bags have enough leaf for a second, lighter cup. The smaller 1.5 g and 2.5 g bags are best used once.

Why don't your tea bags have strings or tags?

To reduce waste. Our bags come without tags, strings or individual wrappers, so there's less material to throw away.
